The alpaca feels so wonderful....but when almost to the toe on sock #1 I finally admitted to myself that I just wasn't liking the way the socks looked! So after talking with my knitting consultant (a.k.a. daughter), I frogged them. I was going to do a 2 by 2 rib sock, which I thought would work well with the slightly fuzzy yarn, but I just kept thinking about the Celtic Cable scarf pattern on the Kraemer Yarns website (http://www.kraemeryarns.com/patterns/pdfs/CelticCableScarf.pdf). I have a lot of scarves, because I love them, and wasn't sure if I needed another very warm one, but this cable pattern is so cool. Besides, even though we are subtropical here, remember the dog that needs walking every day? I'm sure I'll love wearing it during our cold month next winter. It takes more concentration than I'm used to, but it's fun to watch the cable grow. I'll post a photo as soon as I figure out how to do that. I'm sure my consultant will help....oh....I just noticed the little "add image" button - I might can do this myself!
Update on the dog sweater which I was knitting without a pattern (I just measured the dog). It's in the 70's in the evening now, so when I got up to the part where I needed to figure out how to do the legs, I decided it wasn't worth the mental effort (I'm a pretty lazy knitter). It's not in a drawer yet....just over in a corner of the den waiting for attention - sort of like the dog.
